How To Be Ready For Any Epidemic Or Pandemic?

Covid-19 has caused over 171 million confirmed cases, claimed by 3.5 million people as of May 31, 2021 and the US has the world’s highest number of cases and deaths according to CSSE. Also, tensions between maintaining social freedom and engaging in collective defense efforts against the virus have led to preventive measures in place (e.g., wearing masks, social distance, and vaccinations). The CDC tracks many types of variants in the United States and assesses how common they are nationally and regionally. This data may change over time as more information becomes available. Based on current data, variant B.1.1.7 is the most common nationwide. Variant B1.1.7 first appeared in the UK in December 2020. B.1.1.7 Produces a mutation in the S protein (N501Y) lineage that affects the receptor-binding domain (RBD).

While India is battling the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, cases of new fungal infections have been reported, as deadly as coronaviruses. Three types of fungal cases have been reported in India so far, namely black fungus, white fungus, and yellow fungus.

Black fungus (Mucormycosis) –

Black fungus or ‘mucormycosis’ is a deadly disease that infects COVID-19 patients and also recovered patients. The fungus Mucormycosis is present in the environment. Mucormycosis is caused by exposure to mucus molds, commonly found within the soil, air, and even in human nostrils and mucous membranes. It spreads through the airways and destroys facial structures. Common symptoms are nasal congestion, bleeding, runny nose, and facial pain.

White fungus (Aspergillosis) –

Experts say that white fungus is more deadly than black fungus. It can spread to many parts of your body and severely damage your lungs. Severe effects can be seen on the kidneys, mouth, skin, and brain. The white fungus starts from the tongue or private part and turns the tongue white and then spreads to other parts of the body such as the lungs, brain, and food pipe. Fungal molds in the environment cause white fungus infection. The disease is not contagious, but a person is more likely to become infected because these molds can be easily picked up by the patient. After inhalation, the mold spreads to vital organs and then causes problems. Common symptoms include cough, fever, diarrhea, and black spots on the lungs.

Yellow Fungus –

Unlike black and white, yellow fungi start internally, cause leakage of pus, and heals wounds slowly. It can later lead to catastrophic symptoms such as organ failure and severe necrosis (cell injury), in severe cases. Symptoms include lethargy, loss of appetite, weight loss, sunken eyes, etc.

How to protect yourself:

Maintain good hygiene and cleanliness around you. Avoid unnecessary use of broad-spectrum antibiotics or antifungals, which may cause the expansion of unwanted bacteria or organisms. Keep your surroundings clean and free of dust and moisture. Humidity also plays an important role, so keep your humidity level between 30% and 40%.

Cleaning Services are Essential

  • Maybe you come home from shopping and put your reusable bag on the dining table. You may have taken the kids for a walk around and forgot to wash their hands when they came back. These are just some of the ways in which home surfaces can become contaminated – increasing the risk of infection. It is therefore important to intensify disinfection and cleaning efforts to prevent the virus from spreading.

  • Professional advice allowed to facilitate lockdown actions within the belief that COVID-19 was less likely to reappear. To have a clean home, hiring a professional suits best. Simply put, a disease that affects many parts of the world and thrives in an unhygienic environment is not the time to be careless in keeping your home clean.

  • According to the Centers for Disease Control, coronavirus is transmitted via air. Primarily through, coughing up droplets from people carrying the virus. Businesses have to build a wide variety of homes to deal with that risk, which means spreading workers too far and creating barriers in public offices. But the virus also persists on surfaces and infects anyone when it enters their eyes or mouth. Fortunately, this virus is simple to kill on surfaces. Even cleaning the heavily congested area once a day is not enough. Therefore, there is more labor and the cleaning crew will always be there for you.

  • You are inviting a cleaner to your house to do his work, which means you no longer have to practice social distance. The general fact is that if you are a responsible citizen, you are following social distance anyway after you get out of the house. Keep in mind that a professional cleaning company will usually use commercial-grade, heavy-duty cleaning products that you do not have access to.

Conclusion

These days everyone is more cautious of hygiene. Especially as many of us work from home, learn from home,  or are confined at home because of the lockdowns. Thus it is necessary for us to keep ourselves and the surroundings clean. You might not be well-versed in how to do this, and you can seek help for that. Even better, hire us and get fungus-free.
